New Shell Paintings

Made in 2020, these paintings celebrate the beauty of light, shadow, and nuance of color in common beach shells.  The images below feature abalone, conch, moon shells, and a view into an interior of a luminous crab shell.

Below are four new paintings.  The images are of shells which washed up on Surfrider Beach in Malibu during winter storms.  They include mussels, abalone, and something called a wavy turban.
