Recent Paintings

Three Works

Spring 2016, 18 x 24 inches

These paintings embrace an abstract 
approach to organic, visual themes.  
Combining my personal enjoyment of 
my medium with a lyrical eye toward 
nature, the subjects of the paintings 
are not perfectly definable.  The brushy 
paint handling invites the viewer to 
look across the entire surface of plaster 
and color on canvas.
  
Colors and neutrals play against one 
another.  Foreground and distance, 
a sense of motion, and a feeling of 
barrier or partition define these three 
paintings.
